The MANUMED project

MANUMED is a project for the development of the written and immaterial heritage of the euro-mediterranean area.

Aims of the Manumed project are :

• Make collections of documents (manuscripts, books, etc.) in Maghreb and Mashreq countries better known and preserved.

• Maintain the diversity of manuscript and linguistic heritage to enhance cultural exchanges in the Mediterranean region.

• Make book craftsmen better known in Mediterranean countries and promote their activities in the framework of sustainable development.

• Involve local populations, in particular young people, in the renewal of interest for written and linguistic heritage through dynamic and adapted activities, in the spirit of encounters and exchanges of Mediterranean cultures.
